External HDD 3.0

    External HDD 3.0


    Do you have to use an "XBOX" Brand or can i use 4TB-WD? Better yet what do you all recommend?

    Reasons why I won't get the Xbox One or any Microsoft product from now on unless changes are made immediately.

    I agree 500GB isn't a lot of space and hopefully Microsoft will someday allow external HDD like the Wii U (i think?)

    @ ScreamingPyscho MS already have, they just have not confirmed IF you will require a proprietary USB 3.0 compliant external HDD or if you can use any brand of USB 3.0 compliant external HDD.

    The console should automatically recognize it and ask if you want to format it for use on the console.

    External HDD

    Yes External HDD support is available. The External HDD must be at least 256GB in size and use USB 3.0. Keep in mind that the External HDD will have to be formatted for use with the Xbox One console.
