External HD

    I have a 3.0 usb xhd, does it matter which usb port I plug into on my XB1? Thanks!

    Error Awakening DLC

    I changed my game and DLC from my console hd to a external HD and now I can't install the dlc again.

    Neither in console HD nor external

    Games not registering downloaded DLC

    Something VERY bizarre is happening! I used my external HD to transfer all content from my old Xbox HD, to my new 320gb HD. There is absolutely NOTHING on my external HD now. Yet I've found if I start skyrim up and plug in my external HD it sees the DLC?!?!
    There is no Skyrim content on my external HD only the Xbox HD! I will also add that I originally downloaded both DLCs to my old 250Gb Xbox HD so the licences is still on there. I'll also add I'm connected to Xbox live so licenses should not matter!!

    Hey Shutz1012,

    There are three USB 3.0 ports on the Xbox One console: two ports on the rear of the console, and another port on the left side of the console for easy access. (

    support.xbox.com/.../usb-port-usen     ) So I'm actually wondering if you were having issues with playing a video and or storing games on this flash drive. If you are we (Community members) can help you out here. So if this is the case just let us (Community
    members) know.

    When asking a question please be sure to include things like;

    - What you are trying to do.

    - A brief walk through of how you are trying to accomplish your goal.

    - Steps (Solutions) that you've already preformed.

    - Any error codes that the console may display.

    By including these thing's we'll ("WE" Community members) be able to help you out as best as we can. Okay great have an awesome day. External HD :)

    Thanks, Voss! This is my first time using the Xbox forum and wasn't sure how many characters I could use to type my problem. Tried to be short and sweet, but next time I'll know I can type a paper if I need to. Wasn't sure if all three USB ports we're 3.0

    I just wasn't sure if you had a underlining question hah. Asking simple questions like you did is perfectly fine always. If you had a more pressing issue I was trying to squeeze it out of you. External HD :D Please always come back if you have any question at all

    Hello again, if you tested your external HD on another console and it also turned off, it means that there is some problem with your external HD, but it may be on the cable or even in the HD box.

    To echo blue. Minimum is 3.0 USB. 256GB external HD. And You can use up to 2 5TB external HD. So 10 TB

    Hi AyeYaya,

    It sounds that the external HD may have gotten corrupted causing the Xbox One to shutdown since you are able to use the console fine without the external HD plugged in.

    Do you happen to have another external HD that meets the requirements for testing purposes? Or would you happen to be able to try that HD on another Xbox?

    You may need to delete what you have on there, re-format the HD for the Xbox One, and then download what you had on there again.
