    External HD with BitLocker enabled

Is there any way to connect an external Hard Drive and access BItLocker partitions on Xbox One?

After the June update my console can recognize my drive, but it can't access any data protected by BitLocker.

It is very sad that Microsoft doesn't even support their own (very old) product... we are far, far away from 'one single OS' that they are promising with Windows 10.

    :)

Xbox One Hard Drive Support Coming Soon, Teases Microsoft

i personally hope/wish they give the ability to play music from a hd and use in game... (this would help twitch streamers as well) if/when i go hd u bet its 1tb+ so they better let the cat out of the bag what they will support and i sure hope its not a locked exclusive that sells directly from microsoft as a add on for big dollars.

  3. External HD (WD My Passport) always on and than corrupted game installs - finally not detected anymore!

I have used an external HD (WD My Passport - 500gb) on my Xbox One for the last month. I am on instant on and noticed the external HD never turned off, even when console got turned off. A few days ago my system began to behave strangely and, after a simple
reboot, I noticed my external HD was not detected anymore. The Xbox also got suck at the green loading boot screen and only after many tries it turned on again (hours booting). The external HD showed up and, when I tried to boot a game, it gave me a corrupted
game install message (the game was on external). Straight afterwards the external HD was not recognized again.

I lost 300gb of downloads and am trying to fix the external HD on a windows PC (running a full erase). My Xbox One works normally without an external HD. Could the Xbox have ruined my external HD, as it never got turned off for a whole month? I read similar
problems in another xbox forum topic. Something to do with last update? How am I supposed to fit games in the small 500gb internal HD?

I doubt it will work as for now the Xbox One OS doesn't support BitLocker. You may add your suggestion to the Xbox Feedback website :

Cant get my bit locker recovery code, I've been to the my Microsoft account and it says that my pc isn't even a device listed.

Hello again, unfortunately there is no way to bypass the BitLocker recovery key when you want to unlock a BitLocker encrypted drive without a password,

However, you can reformat the drive to remove the encryption, which needs no password or recovery key.

"BitLocker drive encryption is a full-disk encryption method. Even if you formatted the drive and the encryption is removed, the erased data is still encrypted and needs a password to be decrypted; otherwise, the data you restored is just unintelligible text."

    How does Bitlocker work?

log into your microsoft account and search bitlocker, you need the long code to unlock the drive, if bitlocker was used on the previous machine then you need that code to unlock the data.

    Bitlocker

    Hello, travis pencille

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

This is a recent known issue that manifests itself as BitLocker being accidentally launched after the update has finished, as well as the inability to get BitLocker through the Account Recovery interface.See the thread below for more details:

Bit locker crashed my computer and I can't recover my e-mail or my - Microsoft Community

Can not get my BitLocker recovery key - Microsoft Community

If it's convenient, follow the places below to look for BitLocker keys that may exist, which is the only possible hope:

Finding your BitLocker recovery key in Windows - Microsoft Support

Assuming that the recovery key cannot be recovered through the above channels, I would recommend that you perform a fresh install, which will wipe all data from the hard disk and remove the BitLocker restrictions along the way. Unfortunately, we cannot help you rescue this data from encrypted BitLocker disk drives. If you are in the habit of backing up your data on a regular basis, you can consider recovering it from another location, to do a clean install of Windows via USB, see the following article.

How to: Perform a Clean Install or Reinstall of Windows 10 - Microsoft Community
