  1. External hd issue

had my xb1 since launch and bought 2 external hd for about 2 yrs now. Today my xb1 will not detect either drive. Kinda frustrating because all my games are on either drive. Tried the hard reset, I do not have it on instant on, and both have worked fine until
today. Do I have any other options, also tried to change the plug that the drive is in, it detected one, but still not the other.

    :)

    Unique External HD Issue

Hi there External hd issue :)

I'd follow LennoxDaCat's advice and leave the console with the drives for some time in order to fill them.

Another thing you could try is connect both external drives to a working PC and check their health with WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic. If the drives pass both the quick and the
extended tests they should be healthy and safe to use and you should be able to exclude them as the potential cause of the issue.

Let me know if you have any questions!

    Unique External HD Issue

I just upgraded from the Xbox one to the Gears of War 4 Xbox One S and have ran into a frustrating problem. To start I used two external HDs on my old console. Both are Western Digital My Books, ones a 3tb and the other is a 6tb. These HD are 99.2% and
17.5% full respectively. The issue is that the 3tb while showing as 99.2% full and containing 200+ games abd ~20-30 apps, only lists 6 games and 2 apps in the my games and apps section when now connected to the newer console. The 6tb shows all games and apps
it held prior. So far I've done the hard reset countless times and also used all 3 ports on the Xbox as well. I've even tried plugging the external in before and after turning the console on. I also tried plugging the problem drive back into the old console
where it previously worked flawlessly and am also seeing the shortened amount of content there now as well. Also the console allowed me to download a game I know is on the HD a second time and it occupies additional space as if the game really doesn't exist.
It also allows me to move the content it is still showing to my other HDs The issue with just re downloading all the content is that my ISP as of last month now caps data at 1tb. With 2.5+ tb and 5 other people to share data with, to download them all is either
improbable or long term. I appreciate any suggestions, trying to search for a solution has left me very flustered as I seem to be the only one with "partial" access.

The only solution to make the external harddisk work again is connect it to a pc and delete it or simply destroy the partition. The next time you connect it to the XBox One it suddenly appears and the menu asks how it should be formatted.

A very big shame on Microsoft for that stupid coders on the XBox Security

How much HDD space you have you have on your external hard drive?

Destiny for Xbox 360 now requires as of September 2016, 30 GB of free space as explained in the description

    here.

And as a side note, Xbox Live Gold is required to play Destiny and its expansions. The expansions are also required to experience Destiny as well now too.

Xbox one external hard drive games audio crash

    Hello Vash,

Sorry for the issue with your audio on games. We recommend one of the games you are having an audio issue with, install it on the internal HD. Then unplug the external and try the game see if it still has audio issues. This will test to see if it the external
    HD or the Xbox.

    Thanks,

    Brad

External USB HD blocking wireless connection

    Hello Alex,

Thanks for the update on the issue. This is really weird as you state. What type of external do you have? There may be a component in the HD that causes this. Have you tried other external HD, or tried this external on a different console to see if it does
    the same thing?

    Thanks,

    Brad
