  1. External HD causing cinematic stuttering?

So here's a question to those with external HDs. Had a 1TB Seagate Expansion HD for a few years, worked great. Got a 4TB Seagate Expansion HD (not the XB1 branded one) and downloaded a lot of my library and transferred most of my internal drive to it.

I noticed on Hitman and Borderlands 2, cinematics were stuttering running on the 4TB drive. I moved both to the 1TB external and no issues.

Anyone had this issue? Did I possibly get a bad drive? I even swapped the cables they used to see if the 4TB had a bum cable and still it had laggy cinematics on the 4TB. I heard from one person that the larger the USB drive, the worse the performance and I
should just transfer stuff I'm not using to the 4TB and use the 1TB for all my primary play stuff. Is that necessarily a bad idea?

    :)

  2. Controller desyncing and Xbox Live disconnecting.

I disabled every machine that could be causing the problem and it's still occurring. I then moved every thing on to an External HD and restored factory defaults, no change. Any more ideas?

Can't load up my Xbox 360 Dashboard!

Power down the console.Remove all external devices. USB storage, HD Kinect , etc. Reconnect one of them, reboot the console and check to see if the dashboard will load. Repeat this process with each device one at a time to see if any of these is the causing
    the problem.

  4. External HD causing cinematic stuttering?

If there's no cinematic stuttering when the affected games are on your 1TB external HDD and your internal Xbox One HDD, then there is likely something wrong with your new 4TB drive.

I'd consider transferring your content back to the original destinations and replacing the 4TB drive.

Through my personal experiences, getting the largest drives currently available can have a relatively higher chance of failure.

  5. I'm having the same issue with the 4tb seagate but I'm also losing sound..i noticed playing Gears of War 4 & Titanfall 2. The background music drops out constantly and the voices also, only the sound effects are constant. my 1tb Touro external never had
any issues.. I'm wondering if its the Seagate hard drive itself not being 7200rpm like the Touro was..
