Minimum size for an external drive ?

    Evening folks

I'm looking at buying an external drive which will be an SSD. I've read all sorts of conflicting reports about the minimum size (it does say on the XBOX that its 256GB) however I've seen people state they've had 240GB and 250GB SD's working.

Has anyone use a 240gb or 250gb SSD and had it working ?

    Thank you!

  3. Transferring saved data and games from XB1 internal HD to external HD

    Hey there,

Make sure you have enough space available in your External HD for both games. Make sure you follow the steps QuickMythril posted. Moving the games from internal to external HD should work unless there isn't enough space available. Also make sure that the
external HD is connected properly. Hope this helps External HD 240gb will it work for xboxone? :)

  4. External HD 240gb will it work for xboxone?

    Hello BabOne,

Technically, that is correct, the minimum size for an external drive for the Xbox One is 256GB, see "Using the USB ports on your Xbox One console" at the
following URL, support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories/usb-port-use . However, if your 240GB supports USB 3.0 there should be no harm in giving it a try. If the Xbox does not like your 240GB, it will just not recognize it nor let you format it for games
    and apps.

    Good luck and good gaming,

    SA

    Sleepy Hard Drives

    Each external HD performs different.

First go into the Xbox settings and make sure the external HD settings match your desired outcome.

Next go to each hd manufactures site or if you have the manual, look at any options that you may have.

I keep mine on and don't want the system to turn them off but again, all HD work differently.

    External Hard Drive Question

    My burning question is this....

I had a 500 GB xboxone. today I traded it in for the elite xboxone. (love the controller btw). Well I had a bunch of saves from my old xboxone on my external (western digital) I put there since I knew I was going to get rid of that system. Today I get home.
crack open the elite. hook up my external and then I realize I couldn't get to load my saved data. I tried to get back to my fallout 4 but the elite system didn't want to show the thumbnails of the saves I have. Instead it just showed the percentage that its
there and used. and yes I used the cloud but the cloud didn't have all my saves up to date for FO4 progress. I'm a day and some hours off. I'm back to level 28. I was at level 31 before smdh

but anyway I'm wondering is this situation stupid to where my external ONLY remembers my old xboxone? and cant get the elite to 100% get to its contents? Or theres something wrong with this elite system and I should turn it back in?

because I'm wondering if its jacked up to where externals ONLY work for that system you formatted for. Example: you buy an xboxone. you use the external for it. save stuff. the xboxone dies. you get a NEW xboxone and then use the external but it don't work
for the new one because it only agrees with the one before. Is that's how that works?

    I'm baffled on this

Can not finish update + slow profile

Copied everything to an external HD and everything worked through it so reformatted my HD and transferred everything back on to it. Seems to be working now, touch wood.

Trasferire giochi da un pc all'altro [translation-Transferring games from one PC to another]

    Hi Daniele,

Thanks for coming to the forums. Essentially yes it will work, however if you are going to use an external HD, you could just keep the games on the external HD and not install on each PC.

    Thanks,

    Brad
