External hardrive problem

Hi im having a strange problem. I have got a seagate 2tb hardrive and for somebreason my xbox has stopped picking it up. But here where it gets confusing. When i got onto my games list the games on my external aint showing has installed. But if i go to my
pins where i have got the divison pinned (division is saved on external) i press A on it and it will still play the game.

So in short games on hardrive not showing has installed but i can still play them just unable to save new stuff or delete stuff off the hardrive. Sorry if i have confused you

Xbox one pre downloading games

Hi Ive pre ordered and downloaded black ops 3 to my external hardrive, if I take my console and external hardrive round my friends will it work without corrupting the file ? As the external hardrive will be unplugged from my house to his. I did this last
year and I had to re download the game at midnight which wasn't fun

 

So just to be sure.

I can use any external hardrive with the Xbox One. As in if I went and got like a 2TB external hardrive I can use that for my digital game downloads.

 

Hi silly question when you go into my games and apps on the top left just above the games there is a small box that allows you to choose to either display content stored on the internal / external hard drive or both, has this changed to the internal driver?

 

Wish that was it but no. Its not even showing up in the storage settings . Its just strang that if i got on a game that i know is installed on my external and go manage game, it comes up with ready to install. But if i got onto the game hub for that game
i can still launch it and play from there. I can also play them if they are pinned onto the main page.
