    As Genchy pointed out, there is no definitive answer Lei. Personally I use an external drive connected via only the USB cable - nothing worse than having a portable drive with a power supply bigger than the drive itself, kinda defeats the purpose imo.

    If you are plugging into a surge protector, you are doing it wrong - there is even an official note from MS about it somewhere to say this shouldnt be the setup used.

    I personally prefer the self powered external HDD. Over the years I have had better luck with those drives that provide their own power and don't pull the power from the USB bus.

    External Harddrive

    There is really no wrong choice. It is mostly personal choice. If you have several USB devices plugged into your console you might want to consider the self powered drive to reduce the drain on your console. Good Luck on whatever you choose.

    I have used a USB Powered Seagate 1TB External HDD with my Xbox One for over a year now and have had no problems whatsoever.

    You said you have 200gbs free, is that on an external harddrive? if it's on an external harddrive you may need to clear up space on the console itself

    If you have an external harddrive try unplugging it and doing a hard reboot. I had this issue in the past and come to find out it was due to a faulty external harddrive.

    Plug in your external harddrive into a pc and check to see if it there in not you can wipe the harddrive.

    Now I'm not sure this will work for everyone but what i did was moved game from External harddrive to internal and it plays now. Then i just moved it back to my external harddrive.

    Do you use an external harddrive with USB 3.0? Buy a new cable for the harddrive or don‘t use it.
