Have you tried changing the hdd?

If external harddrive will eventually be supported then I'll wait and see how it goes. I just hope that the update will be released before the harddrive is full and I have to start deleting stuff off of it. From the video, it seems that the Xbox One and PS4 work the same way I don't get why Microsoft don't let people swap out the harddrive.

external harddrive

Just wondered if there was a way for the xbox one to pick up an external harddrive as I download a lot of films and alot of tv series then put them on my externtal harddrive and wanted to watch em useing th xbox one is that possible or does anyone know if
it will bbe in the future

i don't see why not, TBH i think that might be a little excessive. you going to use RAID 0 or 1?

It would work but you might want to consider a smaller drive like Western Digital and Seagate do.

Talk about your overkill. Especially for the price. I agree with my learned colleagues. A 3tb seagate or western digital would sufice. And you would save yourself around $650!

Hi CWEric,

You can indeed use a external storage device on Xbox One as long as it follows this:

Has capacity of 256 GB or more

Uses USB 3.0.

I would like to add on what EvilManicBoss states above. a harddrive that has an external powersupply is better since it doesn't have to draw power through the USB

I'd go with Seagate. They're one of the better external hard drives imo. I have a 3TB Seagate and I love it.

You said you have 200gbs free, is that on an external harddrive? if it's on an external harddrive you may need to clear up space on the console itself

If you have an external harddrive try unplugging it and doing a hard reboot. I had this issue in the past and come to find out it was due to a faulty external harddrive.

Plug in your external harddrive into a pc and check to see if it there in not you can wipe the harddrive.
