    External Harddrive Works but Isn't Reconized


    My external Hard Drive is not being recognized on my Xbox One when plugged in. I have tried all of the recommendations that are given in hope of fixing it. I tried plugging it into my laptop and it recognizes the device then. When Viewing the device it says device working properly. But nothing after restarting and trying new ports or restating with the storage off function off. I don't think that there is anything wrong with my USBs either because my controllers are wired. Any suggestions help!

    Note: I can hear the device running both plugged in the xbox and the laptop

    Could you tell me what steps you took on your console? Did you also format your external hard drive before connecting to your console again?

    Hello Sam! Make sure that your console is updated. After ensuring it's updated, power cycle your console but holding the power button up to 10 seconds. After turning your Xbox back on, go to your storage setting and make sure the device is recognized by

    Also try a few different ports. I use the one on the back of the console.

    Now I'm not sure this will work for everyone but what i did was moved game from External harddrive to internal and it plays now. Then i just moved it back to my external harddrive.
