Hello

I had an update this morning for my xbox one . Ever since the update my external hdd which was working fine yesterday is not being recognized. I use it for games. I tried every troubleshooting tip on the website with no luck. Any chance the update corrupted
my hdd?

Its a Seagate 2tb specifically for xbox. It is being recognized by my laptop and my tv so the hdd still works.

Any advice?

Its already been formatted for xbox. The console isnt recognizing it so couldnt format it if I wanted to

Just unplug it and replug it

Format you external storage and give it another try.

If you already tried formatting the drive or unplugging and plugging it back in! Then that means that you have a dead drive. SSD's are highly know for the chips to only be written at a limited amount a times before they give up the ghosts. Hard drives
have a higher chance on lasting longer only because there's a disc spinning inside of it! Chips can't always handle data being deleted or written at a shorten point

Hi,

It could be that the update corrupted the files on your hdd. If you tried all this steps without success I would
suggest that you reformat your hdd on your laptop and try afterwards if your Xbox recognize it then.
