External Harddrive not detected. It meets all requirements.

My X-Bone won't detect my totally valid, absolutely flawless without any issue at all hard drive that surpasses the requirements of external storage. It doesn't even show up as a media device. The X-Bone makes no effort whatsoever to format it at all in
any way shape or form. My PC, PS3, and Wii-U can see and use it just fine. Formatted it to NTFS, FAT32, and exFAT, doesn't see it . It is connected via USB3.

    What gives?

    :)

You can try connecting it to a Windows computer, and reformat it as NTFS. Then, you can plug it back into your Xbox and see if it will reformat the drive again so it's usable.

    External Harddrive Not Detected

I have a Seagate Backup Plus Slim that I just purchased today from Amazon, and I cannot get my Xbox to detect it. I have tried everything in the troubleshooting guide, I was wondering if anyone had a similar issue that they were able to
    resolve.

Any advice would be very appreciated, thanks!

    Hello!

In order to use an external hard drive for the Xbox One it must meet the requirements.

External drives are required to be formatted NTFS per:

For an external storage drive to save games and apps from Xbox One, it must meet the following requirements:

It uses a USB 3.0 connection. If you’re using a USB hub, the hub must also be USB 3.0 or later.

It has 256 GB or larger storage capacity.

It has a partition. Typically, drives come with a preformatted partition. For more information about partitioning an external hard drive, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions.
