I talked to a computer "guru" and he said that during the "Big Update" any devices that were attached were scanned, checked and if any "pirated or unlicensed" media was discovered then the external storage device and media be "Altered or Blacklisted". Not
sure if if he was serious or joking when he told me this?

The drive is not detected on my daughter's new Xbox One, either, so it isn't s system-specific issue.

I have a 2TB toshiba external that worked before the NXOE update. Now it's hit or miss, mostly when I try to download games. I'll get a "external Hard drive ready" msg when the system starts, immediately followed by a "installation stopped" msg.

no one seems to know how to fix this and I can't get much help from MS. Please help! This is so frustrating!

same problem here, It started after the 300 MB update, which was supposed to be a fix

Could be an issue of compatibility, have you checked for driver updates for the HDD?

My PNY 128gb usb flash drive that was connected to my XBOX One when updated is no longer recognized by my TV's USB Media port either. It is still recognized by all my computers. This is saddening, luckily I have a 16gb Media drive that is still recognized
by both.

I've tried all types of formatting of the 128gb drive and nothing is working, kinda frustrating really!
