External hard drives!

Hello, I was wanting to know if having 2 external hard drives connected & having one with copied games & the other with the same games, yet they were moved from the internal hard drive. Will that hurt anything, or disrupt my ability to play them?

Hard Drive Storage Limit

if adverts for "compatible" external hard drives are any indication it would seem the external storage patch should be coming some time soon although I note it wont be in the first patch released.

Hey there H4iRYMUN5ter,

what are you trying to do with having the same game on two different drives? You shouldn't have problems moving your games from your internal drive to your external one.

If you are looking for redundancy, you should be able to back the drive up to another one or simply clone it. You also have your games in your account's library and you can always re-download them. Do check the health of your external drives very once in
a while to make sure they are doing fine and performing correctly. I'd recommend using the tool provided by the manufacturer.

Thank you so much for the response and information, I truly apreaciate it! So, I don't have to make two duplicates of my games then? I was worried cause of the upcoming update to my xbox one console! By the way, I can't hardly wait for it, lol! Thank you

Depending on your settings, all your saves should be uploaded to the cloud on your account and no matter where you go, they should stay there. Moreover, you should have your games in your library that's attached to your account so you can download them on
any console that you are logged on. Even after the updates you should still be able to freely use both your games and your saves. If you are unsure how to do that, you can always contact Xbox's support.

Is this game stored on your Internal Storage or External hard drive? If it's on your External Hard drive kindly move it to your Internal Storage then remove the hard drive. This is to check if it's due to the external hard drive.

No, the 500gb is a joke. you will 100% need either an external hard drive or to buy the larger 1tb hard drive. External hard drives are just the cheaper option.

May I know if an external hard drive is plugged into your console? If yes, have you kept the external hard drive unplugged when performing troubleshooting steps and check if the issue persists without external hard drive?

You have to have an external hard drive plug in. It does not have to be 360 just reformat it. External hard drives that plug in the USB are not recognized as a hard drive for the 360.
