    internal memory

4 gig model has no hard drive its is internal flash memory like a usb drive but built in. you can add a 250 or 320 gig hard drive to it or use external flash drives up to 32 gig but those are your only options if the internal memory is failing, which is
    what it sounds like.

I have the Seagate 4TB drive and it works great.

However a good buddy who works in IT swears that Western Digital make the best external drives and so if I had it to do again I'd have probably gone with that make.

Also though USB drives that are powered by the console technically should work when you see people complaining about problems with the a USB drive, it tends to be powered by the USB Port and for that reason you're probably better off with an external HD
that has it's own power supply. But keep in mind the only basis I have for that last bit of advice is what I've read on the Forums.

Don't they have to be bigger than 4 or 5 gigs?
