Newegg is good but anymore its hard to beat Amazon prices. You can usually get Seagate 3TB drives on there for about 100 bucks, 2TB hover around the 70-80 dollar mark.

  6. Just be sure its a 3.5 desktop external, not one of those smaller portable ones since they use laptop drives which are slower 5400 RPMs

A 5,400 RPM drive will still work fine. The one in the console itself is 5,400 RPM. It's not just RPM that affects the read/write speeds either. Areal density also makes a difference.

I've got a 2.5" Seagate Backup Fast Plus, which is actually 2 x 2.5" drives in Raid 0. It offers write speeds of around 240 MB/s and read speeds of around 185 MB/s, which is faster than the majority of 3.5" drives on the market.

If you don't plan on carrying the drive around and you don't mind plugging it into a power socket, then 3.5" is a better option though.

I have no reason to carry and external hard drive with me. So it seems from the last few posts it's Seagate Externals are the way to go.

I use HGST externals with my PC, which rate very highly in reliability tests and are also nice and fast. While Seagate have some solid drives with low failure rates, a couple of theirs have terrible failure rates, so make sure you avoid those. Have a look
    here: -

    www.backblaze.com/.../best-hard-drive

For instance, the Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 has a 1 year failure rate of 43%, which is terrible. I don't know if that drive is used in their externals.

    External Hard drive.

Chances are you'll be good with that one. It seems that Seagate had issues with particular models, not with all of their drives. No 5TB drives are mentioned in the study I linked to.

I would expect it to last a lot longer than a year, but it comes with a 2 years manufacturer warranty anyway, so you can get it replaced if it fails in the first 2 years.

Is this game stored on your Internal Storage or External hard drive? If it's on your External Hard drive kindly move it to your Internal Storage then remove the hard drive. This is to check if it's due to the external hard drive.

Which Xbox One Should I Get- 500gb or 1tb

No, the 500gb is a joke. you will 100% need either an external hard drive or to buy the larger 1tb hard drive. External hard drives are just the cheaper option.

Xbox series x keeps crashing video game apps

May I know if an external hard drive is plugged into your console? If yes, have you kept the external hard drive unplugged when performing troubleshooting steps and check if the issue persists without external hard drive?

    Requires a hard drive.

You have to have an external hard drive plug in. It does not have to be 360 just reformat it. External hard drives that plug in the USB are not recognized as a hard drive for the 360.
