you can setup another drive and transfer every thing easily, games saves are never affected as there stored locally and on the cloud.

Ghosts I have that same one (in black) got it from amazon with my prime account as it was chaeper, moved Destiny install to it and it does load quicker.

Only think I don't like is when in instant on mode it has a slow flashing light (standby mode) which means it's not powered but available (so disk heads parked and not spun up) the light is bright External hard drive :)

I have this one and I have 35 games installed on it and only used 13.8%. I have everything being Downloaded there and to me my Xbox seems to run smoother. But it does have a power supply.

the wd ultra portable does not have a power supply it runs directly from the console and is as quiet as a whisper, loving it and a very good investment.

I have a Seagate Backup Plus Fast drive. It's 2.5", so it's powered by USB, but there's actually 2 hard drives inside it so it has a 4TB capacity. It's the fastest and highest capacity USB-powered drive you can get for the Xbox One, but it's expensive.

You can easily copy or move any item from one drive to another, including from external to external. The only options missing are "move all" and "copy all", so unfortunately you have to manually queue up each item to be moved/copied.

The copy option can be handy if you have a friend with an Xbox One, as you can copy games to each other's externals to save you doing massive downloads, then you just have to buy a game to unlock what's already on your hard drive.

    So I bought
    this hard drive
. Straight out of the box I hooked it up to mt PC which is on it's last legs to download all photos and videos and documents etc. before my laptop dies. After that I hooked it up to my ONE to put some games on it. When I plugged it in, it
said it had to format it, but in order for it to do that it would erase everything. Naturally I clicked "cancel" since I moved everything from my laptop to it.

The next day I removed everything from the external hard drive back onto the PC.

Now when I hook the drive back up to the ONE to format it, it doesn't ask me that option. It is now only recognized as a media device. I do not have the option to move my games to it. I've tried everything including deselecting "when Xbox is off, turn storage
off" and doing a hard reboot.

I formatted it on my PC and it still won't work. What a waste of 80 euro.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

    External hard drive

@brandiesel - Go into Settings - System - Manage storage. The device should show up there and you can choose to format it for use as Xbox One storage (which will wipe it in the process). The reason it doesn't ask you every time is because it would be annoying
to get that prompt every time you plugged in your external to watch a movie off it, so it only asks you the first time for each new drive you connect.

@KiLLa - Make sure it's formatted as NTFS. The Xbox 360 supported FAT32, so if it was formatted for use with that, then that's probably why it's not working. Just hook it up to your PC and reformat it as NTFS and you'll be good to go. Obviously, doing that
will wipe it, so make sure you copy any data you want to keep off it first.

I'm not sure you can do it mate, as OS X uses a different file system.

If you have access to a Windows PC, hook the drive up, open Windows Explorer/File Explorer, right-click on the drive and choose "Format" and a small window will pop up. Set "File system" to "NTFS (Default)" and then hit Start.

Is this game stored on your Internal Storage or External hard drive? If it's on your External Hard drive kindly move it to your Internal Storage then remove the hard drive. This is to check if it's due to the external hard drive.

Which Xbox One Should I Get- 500gb or 1tb

No, the 500gb is a joke. you will 100% need either an external hard drive or to buy the larger 1tb hard drive. External hard drives are just the cheaper option.

May I know if an external hard drive is plugged into your console? If yes, have you kept the external hard drive unplugged when performing troubleshooting steps and check if the issue persists without external hard drive?

    Requires a hard drive.

You have to have an external hard drive plug in. It does not have to be 360 just reformat it. External hard drives that plug in the USB are not recognized as a hard drive for the 360.
