Discus and support External Hard Drive? in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I saw today on the internet that the June update was already starting to roll out.. is this true?     I saw today on the internet that the June update was already starting to roll out.. is this true? I have already purchased a WD 3T 3.0 usb for storage and was wondering if the update to run this is already good to go... anyone, anyone, Bueller....

    I would try this. Disconnect both drives, hard reset your system (press and hold power button for 10 seconds then power it back on). Plug back in just one of the drives and see if it works.

    If it doesn't, try plugging it into a different USB port. If still no luck, plug it back into your computer, formatting as NTFS (or converting it to NTFS) then try again.

    Do they have their own power source, or do they just plug in via USB? If they plug in via USB only it could be for some reason they are not getting enough power. You could try an external drive with it's own power source and see if that one works.

    To my knowledge its only currently out for those of us in the update preview program. I will do my own looking around to verify though.

    It's going to be live in June sometime. Right now only people in the update previews have access to this feature. It's coming, though! And it's coming just in time for when Games with Gold also launches in June. I'll be filling up my hard drive quickly,
    so I'll be getting a new external HDD soon!

    I purchsed a WD 1 TB 3.0 usb extrenal drive and the Xbox doesn't reconize it

    Some users have reported in the preview forums that this drive has a security locking feature that had to be turned off by connecting to a PC first, then the console recocnised it, maybe worth a look.

    Please tell users of the xbox one that once they allow the xbox one to format an external hard drive they will be unable to use this hard drive with there PC. I have very little interest in downloading the games i've played onto it. I mainly wanted to
    download movies from my external hard drive to my xbox one for viewing movies. Same with songs (much like on the ps3 or even the xbox 360) I am very dissapointed with the download as it does not allow me to do this and futher more i now have a useless external
    hard drive!

    Is this game stored on your Internal Storage or External hard drive? If it's on your External Hard drive kindly move it to your Internal Storage then remove the hard drive. This is to check if it's due to the external hard drive.

    No, the 500gb is a joke. you will 100% need either an external hard drive or to buy the larger 1tb hard drive. External hard drives are just the cheaper option.

    Requires a hard drive.

    You have to have an external hard drive plug in. It does not have to be 360 just reformat it. External hard drives that plug in the USB are not recognized as a hard drive for the 360.
