External hard drive won't power up

Hello. Earlier today, I was playing the new watch dogs game, but while i was playing it, it would repeatedly crash, over and over again. So after a while, I got tired of trying to play it with all the crashes, so I decided to play sniper elite 4 instead.
And it was acting normally until it too, crashed. It was then that I realized there was a problem with my xbox, so I hard reset it, expecting to fix the problem. After the console turned off, I went away for a while, came back, turned it on, and waited. My
console started up normally, but when I tried to start a game, it said I needed to install it first. Confused, I checked "my games and apps" to see what the issue was. And then it showed me that my external hard drive was not connected to my xbox, so I checked
the hard drive, and it wasn't on. The light was off, and my xbox was not detecting that it was plugged in. (btw, my hard drive is a 4-terabyte, seagate wired hard drive). I've tried every method to fix it. I've reset my xbox, I've unplugged and replugged everything,
I've hard reset it, but nothing works. It's not my xbox with the problem, it's the hard drive. I've plugged it into another xbox, still nothing. I've used a different power cord for the hard drive, still nothing. I plugged it into my pc to see if it would
detect it, but still nothing happened. When I hold it up to my ear, I can hear electronics inside it making a faint noise, but the light does not come on, and no device reads it as being plugged in. My warranty's ran past the date, so I can't get a replacement.
I do not know how to fix hardware myself, I don't want to spend money for someone else to fix it, and I DEFINITELY do not want to pay $200 for a brand new one. Please, if anyone has a solution, it would greatly help. Thank you.
