    External Hard Drive. Which one?

Just grabbed a WD elements 2TB for a great deal today. I needed more space since i'm at 92% and already deleting games to make room for others to play lately. Have a question as to the way you guys use your drives. Do you mostly just load and play the games
from the external now or do you find yourself moving the game you want to play more often on to the internal drive and just using the external as backup? Not sure how fast it would take to move games back and forth to make it worth the time? Thanks.

  3. Yeah same here. Hey hi Cryoskill. I did have a seagate that fell apart after a couple of years, And other people have had problems with seagate too. I'm thinking maybe fall of 2016, there should be a selection of SSD's on the market. Right now, Spring 2016
there is only a couple, And they are like $1,000. But yeah for any serious game it's going to have to be an SSD, Because of the lag in load time. Hey let me know what you come up with. Thanks pSyam (sam).

IceStorm III, Thank You. Yeah I'm going to get an SSD. I've had problems with seagate though, Maybe it's just me. I think I'll wait until later in 2016 though when there's more models to choose from, And the price should be lower too. Thanks pSyam. (sam)

  5. So how about the

Toshiba Canvio Basics 3TB Portable Hard Drive
    I read this link http://techu4ria.com/best-external-hard-drives-for-xbox-one/

IF I understand this correctly ? And I am still learning all this "technical jargon" that it has to be NTFS compatible or at least formatted that way? And the Xbox One supervisor , I spoke with said I could format either by plugging it in to my Xbox One
S or I could format it on a PC? Could someone 100% confirm this, I don't wish to damage my Xbox One S but I realy don't want to shell out $150.00 for a 4TB Seagate. ThanksExternal Hard Drive. Which one? :)

HDD's will never beat the raw speed power. SSD's can start up a PC in 10 seconds. HDD's take 2 minutes easily to do this, and then once you reach the desktop, it spends another 2 minutes for the apps and stuff to finish loading. SSD's also are at least 3x
faster at saving and loading stuff compared to HDD.

However regarding a good External HDD for Xbox, I'd recommend Seagate. I got two Seagate 1TB Slim HDD. 1 for Xbox 1 additional storage for games (game file sizes on Xbox 1 are kwazy, COD is 40GB, Forza 5 is 35GB). The other one I use to back up my PC files
(pictures, videos, word documents). Seagate offers a 2 year warranty on their external HDD's (well at least the ones I got). My custom desktop PC uses a Samsung EVO 850 1TB SSD which Samsung offers a 5 year warranty on.

It depends how much of a gamer you are. If you have less than 18 Xbox 1 games, depending on the games, your console internal storage and a single 1TB HDD should be enough. If you have 20-25 games, a 2TB would be more better. Samsung and Seagate are reputable
brands. You wouldn't want to buy from some cheap dodgy brand though. The better brands may be more expensive, but will normally be better quality and last longer since such companies tend to have higher standards.

The Toshiba Canvio appears to meet the requirements for an Xbox One external storage device. You won't damage your Xbox One S. Just plug the external drive into one of the Xbox One S USB ports and the console will detect it, offer to format it, and you'll
be good to go. Of course, all files on the Canvio external drive will be wiped in the process, but that won't be an issue if the external drive is brand-new.

    Hello "ibakez" and "Auswolf7" :)

Thank you very much for your feedback regarding this matter, I really appreciate it :)

At the moment, I will be playing nothing but Forza Motorsport 5 because there is so much stuff to do in this game; so HDD space won't be an issue for now.

Thank you very much for the welcome Auswolf7 :)

Have a nice day or afternoon or night :)

I ended up getting a Toshiba 2TB hard drive. It transferred my games over pretty quick. I'm pleased so far.
