    External Hard Drive Update

Hello, I have a 300gb external hard drive and had the original partition of 32gb for my xbox 360.

With the new update I copied the data from the hard drive to my pc to then format the hard drive and reformat it within the xbox to be able to use the full 300gb.

Now I'm just wondering where do I copy the "data0001" files to with all my saved data, as the hard drive now shows up as a external USB when it used to be another memory unit.

    Thank you.

    :)

Quick Fix? - New Dashboard preview update problem

Unplug your external hard drive and do a hard reboot. Then when your Xbox is back on the home screen, plug your external hard drive back in. I had that same problem.

The latest update should have fixed that problem though. Go to Settings and System to see if there is an available update.

  3. All my games are gone

After the recent update, all my games have disappeared from my external hard drive. In system setting storage, it list the external hard drive and says 242.3 GB of 2.8tb free. But under my games and apps it shows no games on the external hard drive only
the games on the internal hard drive.

Xbox files are never meant to be read by a pc. The Xbox uses a different format that the pc can't read so it alters the files to make them readable. They might not be usable as xbox files anymore.

They are in a hidden folder on the root directory of the hard drive.

There is a setting in windows explorer to show hidden files.

Although I can't be more specific than that because although I can see the folder and the files within the folder I have no idea if just copying the data0001 files there will make them usable by the xbox 360 as I don't understand the file/directory structure.

    Also just re-read your post.

I was referring to the hidden folder on the drive once the drive has been converted to 300GB

The data files you had from the 32GB partition will probably not be compatible with the drive now you are using the full 300GB

Xbox one external hard drive games audio crash

    Hello Vash,

Thank you for keeping us updated. There are some instances in which games on an external hard drive do not receive updates. We recommend moving around some of the games on the internal and external hard drives. Since your internal hard drive is full, you
can move some of them to the external hard drive. Once the internal hard drive has some extra space, we suggest moving some of the games from the external hard drive to the internal. Check to see if those games require any updates. Be sure to let us know the
    results!

Updating a game causes me to have to reinstall the ENTIRE THING

If the external hard drive is the possible cause then try and update something while the hard drive is disconnected.

It may be that your game is on the external hard drive but your default location for downloading games in your internal hard drive so when it goes to update it can't find the game as it isn't in the default location. If this is the case you would need to
make sure that the games being updated are on the internal hard drive before updating.

    Installation issue

If you recently updated your console with the February 2020 update, it has bricked external hard drives world wide and Xbox Support refuses to acknowledge that the last update is causing an issue with external hard drives. No games will download, install,
or launch from external drives since the update. They've known about this for close to a month.

My game says its installed but its also still installing?

I appreciate the update, Ayden. Do you happen to have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause these issues so please if these games are stored on your External hard drive, move them to your Internal storage and then unplug the external hard drive to test it out.
