    Hi...Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't see it anywhere. I need to transfer my data from my external 120GB hard drive(as it's almost full) to a new 320GB external hard drive... Some say I need a CD and transfer cable, some dont.!!....Is
    it even possible to do..

    Please help and thanks for taking time to read this..much appreciated...

    xbox 360 license transfer?

    on the old xbox 360 can i transfer the data to flash drive even the external hard drive?

    I know that limit is 32gb but can I transfer the data to 1tb external hard drive?

    I want to transfer to the 1tb external hard drive then redownload dlc and profile onto it....?

    The reason I want to use it on the 1tb is because i was going to buy new hard drive later fkr the dlc and use 1tb hard drive for something else.

    As long as your console has remotely recent updates you do not need a disc. You will need a transfer cable though (unless you wish to use usb drives to move the content over). Be careful though, there are a lot of cheap cables out there that will tell
    you to configure your hard drive. They are fake. Do not configure the drive. It will turn your hard drive into a usb device that can only use 32GB. This can't be undone. Make sure to purchase official transfer cable. support.xbox.com/.../set-up-transfer-cable

    I also wanted to mention that the Xbox 360 does not support full storage space on external drives. You will only have access to a maximum of 32GB per external device.

    Thanks for answers....now I'm confused as to why anyone would buy a 320GB external hard drive if you can only put 32Gb on it... Sorry for being a ***!!... Cheers

    When you say external, are you referring to the Xbox Hard drives that attach to the outside of the older "fat" 360's? If you are then you can use whatever size they came in. I believe that the biggest they came was 250GB. Anything bigger may be unofficial.
    320GB hard drives are made for the slim and E models. If you are meaning an external hard drive connected by usb then you will only be able to use 32GB.

    Yes I am...I bought a 320GB one from eBay and it should arrive tomorrow... I definitely have one of the older fatter models( bit like myself!!)... Guess all I can do is try it and if it doesnt work send it back...Fingers crossed...Thanks all... Well let

    Just so you know, since that drive is likely an unauthorized 3rd party hard drive you may experience issues (drives failing, needing repeated formatting, no ability to play backwards compatible Xbox original games, etc...) that microsoft will not take any
    responsibilty for. Good luck!

    If you have an external hard drive transfer the game over, then delete it off of the external drive.

    The external hard drive was around 20% full. After the I formatted the external hard drive it went down to 0% as everything was uninstalled. Thing is i tried transfering Battlefield 1 from the internal hard drive to the now empty external hard drive and
    it started transferring. Battlefield 1 was one of the games that just stopped installing/transferring when i wanted to move from the internal to the external hard drive so i might of fixed the problem. Now i am just concerned that the games that were uninstalled
    will not have anyting saved and i will have lost everything.

    Yes you will! If you have an external hard drive, transfer it to that, then, when you get your next gen console plug the hard drive into the USB port and transfer it from the external to the SSD hard drive that is in your new xbox to enjoy the speeds and

    You are using transfer, which is to move the contents of your internal hard drive to the external hard drive instead of copying, you do not need to manually delete the contents of the internal hard drive (because they are already on the external hard drive).
