    External Hard Drive Speeds

Hello, I was just wondering will a 5400 rpm external drive be fast enough to run games on my Xbox One? Is it necessary to spend the extra money for a 7200 rpm speed?

    Issues with installation

I'm gonna be more specific: the game doesn't accept installation on external storage. Whether it's flash drive or external hard drive, the game isn't meant to install on external storage connected through USB just like Need for Speed Rivals on Xbox 360.
You need to install it on an internal hard drive (media hard drive). The link I provided to you aren't external hard drives; they're internal hard drives for the Xbox 360:

  3. Is 1TB enough for X1?

That's what external hard drives are for. Some of them even speed up loading times.

The hard drive in the X1 is 5400rpm, so yes, a 5400rpm external hard drive will work fine.

External Hard Drives work very well with Xbox One, I was surprised how smooth everything runs. The 5400rpm works just fine.

Ideally you will want to go with the faster HDD's. 7200 RPM. They load up faster and with game content being quite large these days. The faster your HDD can load them the better.

An external HDD is something I think I may also have to consider soon.

I got a 1TB 5400 RPM drive and it loads up games quicker than the internal drive, so I don't think it matters which you go for.

  11. If you can get an external with a 7200rpm hdd then go for it, but the 5400rpm drives will work just fine. Note that the external hard drive
MUST be USB 3.0 compliant. Minimum size of 256GB.
