    Hi, I recently got a 2tb external drive, I have my console set to instant on and the option to power off external drives when console turned off deselected. If I'm downloading/installing and power off the console this continues and when finished my ext
    drive powers off, however if I try and download something via smart glass etc it doesn't power up my ext and start. When I then turn the console on it will start downloading what I wanted. What settings should I have on/off so that my xbox uses the ext drive
    when powered off, if even possible?!

    All my games are gone

    After the recent update, all my games have disappeared from my external hard drive. In system setting storage, it list the external hard drive and says 242.3 GB of 2.8tb free. But under my games and apps it shows no games on the external hard drive only
    the games on the internal hard drive.

    Quick Fix? - New Dashboard preview update problem

    Unplug your external hard drive and do a hard reboot. Then when your Xbox is back on the home screen, plug your external hard drive back in. I had that same problem.

    The latest update should have fixed that problem though. Go to Settings and System to see if there is an available update.

    If your hard drive is not set to be on when the console is off then that would be the reason the games could not download (if the hard drive is set is your main one for storage).

    Please head on over to Settings to ensure the external drive is set to be on.

    So I just logged into my app to see if mine was pulling the 1 TB that comes standard on my Console. When I set up my external hard drive, I set it to be the main source for all my games to save. looking at the app under console settings it is saying 820GB
    of 2TB. So it is pulling my external hard drive. I am assuming it is how you have your external hard drive set up to save.

    Oh, would you like to delete the games on your external hard drive itself?

    You may need to reformat the hard drive as it may be corrupted.

    " Settings > System > Storage > Choose your external hard drive > Format"

    When I ran out of space on my external Hard drive I just added another external drive to my Xbox One console and set this new hard drive as my default location for installing games.

    It was a problem with my external drive, I couldn't install those few items to my external drive but I could install them using my internal hard drive by setting it as default.
