External hard drive rpm?

Discus and support External hard drive rpm? in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I just hooked up a 3tb, 3.0usb WD my book external HD. now I'm concerned that the rpm speed isn't 7200rpm... is this a concern or will this external be...     I just hooked up a 3tb, 3.0usb WD my book external HD. now I'm concerned that the rpm speed isn't 7200rpm... is this a concern or will this external be fine for the Xbox one..?... read some stuff on load times.. any ideas out there.. thanks

    What we've seen so far is that the rpm doesn't really effect performance. As long as you have a 3.0 or faster USB connection and the drive itself is at least 256GB then it should work fine. If you have any problems though definitely let the support staff
    know so they can document it and let the tech team look into it.

    wow, their hard drive is only 5400 RPM... no wonder why they'll people change them out... and it says flat out that external hard drives are not supported... interesting.

    How much free Internal disc space is Required for XBox One to perform optimally?

    Games I want to have the best speed I install on the internal drive 7200RPM and others I install on the external 5400 RPM drive. Most externals are 5400 RPM drives to keep the cost down.

    From what I have seen most USB powered drives are 5900 RPM. Most people will see an improvement regardless but I really wanted 7200 RPM. Best way I saw to do this was to get a separate enclosure and hard drive. Downside seems to be that you would need
    external power.
