    External hard drive ready message

The internal hard disk of my xbox one is full and i've tried an external hard drive. It gets formatted by the xbox one but after some time i get the message "external hard drive ready" as if it lose connection with xbox for a moment. I can install games
on the hard drive but i can't play them because whrn i get the message it kicks me out. I've tried two disks but with the same enclosure and they've the same problem. I couldn't even format the other disk again to use it in a computer so I'm a bit afraid to
buy a new hard disk if i'm not sure it will work. Does someone know how to fix this problem or at least a list of hard drive that are 100% working?

    :)

This is Getting Ridiculous Now. Update for Dashboard NEEDED.

Console in Energy Saver takes about 2 minutes, while the one in Instant On takes seconds. The message for the External Hard Drive being ready doesn't bother me...I at least know it's ready! Lol.

    Hi Mikele,

sorry to hear you are having problems with your HDD, there are a couple of things you can check.

First I suggest you all try toggling the Settings > Power > ”When Xbox is off, turn off storage” option – some drives will perform better with this option deselected.

If you have no joy with that then there are some other troubleshooting steps
    here
and see if any of those help.

I have heard of people having problems with enclosures - make sure its operating as USB 3 and has enough power. If neither xbox nor pc can see the HDD you should still be able to re-format and try again by connecting to your pc and using Disk Management
    in windows.

If all else fails I suggest trying a purpose built external USB 3 drive - either borrow or buy one! I personally use a 2TB WD My Passport Ultra but there are plenty of options.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for your help. I've tried what you suggested but unfortunately it doesn't work. I have been able to reformat the second disk, so i think i'm going to buy a new hard disk with a new enclosure. What do you mean by "purpose built external usb3 drive"?
There is some feature i should look for except usb3.0/ more than 256 gb which both of my disks met?
