External Hard Drive Randomly Disconnects on Xbox One : FIXED!

Issue Recap:

I bought an ssd drive to use as an external hard drive for my xbox one, and a usb 3.0 external enclosure for it. It kept disconnecting randomly so I replaced the enclosure thinking that would fix it, still randomly disconnects. I tried all usb ports reloading
the xbox OS with the recovery files on a usb stick etc and still random disconnects.

Solution:

I added a cheap/small $12 non-powered usb 3.0 hub between the hard drive enclosure and the xbox and have had no issues since.

Details:

It is my assumption that the issue is related to the power down method that the drive uses and the usb hub may act as a translator so to speak. I had a similar issues with some nas drives on my raid server.

Question for Microsoft:

Is there an ETA on when this issue might be fixed?

PLEASE HELP

I have an external hard drive for my Xbox one. It has always worked and I've never had any problems with it whatsoever. However, yesterday I unplugged my Xbox and when I've plugged it back in and turned it on, it only works when I disconnect my external
hard drive. Someone please help, this is driving me mad.

Problema wireless

Wireless Networking: You may be unable to detect wireless networks with an external hard drive attached.

Workaround: While the console is off, disconnect the external hard drive, power on the console, connect to the wireless network, and reconnect the external hard drive.

Thanks for the tips. If you see anyone else post in the forums with this issue, feel free to share this with them! To answer your question, generally Microsoft does not post when they will or will not release a fix for any certain bug. Usually updates are
rolled out the preview program, and from there then distributed down to everyone else. So perhaps follow this link
for update info, and to see if/when hard drive fixes are pushed.

Heh alright it's been known that if you connect the drive to anything running FAT32 a p.c or a 360 and format it there then it may work on the xbox one and i feel as that the 360 will work better since you do get the option to manually re-format it in the
settings

How to format the 360 external hard drive / internal

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

Select Storage or Memory.

Select the storage device that you want to format, and then press Y on your controller.

Select Format. You will see the following message:

This will delete all content on this device. Do you wish to continue?

Select Yes to format the storage device.

I would recommend holding down the power button for about 10 seconds, until the console shuts off, then unplug the power cord, and wait for 1 to 2 minutes before plugging it back in and turning the console on!

I have tried loading games both on the internal hard drive and external.

I've disconnected my hard drive and tried to load games that are stored internally and this hasn't fixed it.
