    I have an Xbox 1 and just got the 1S for Christmas. If I get an external HD for games/saved content will I be able to use it interchangeably between the 2 consols?

    Reason I am going to move my games and game save over to it so i can reformat the xbox 360 hdd. Because for some weird reason the internal hdd has some demos that show up and disappear on there on and was wondering if formatting the hdd would fix this problem?

    Hi there.

    I don't think you can because when you plug the drive into the console, the Xbox One will recognize that you've attached an external hard drive and will ask if you want to format it (and you need to if you want to use it with the console), which means that
    the data on your drive will be erase.

    Hi,

    So the answer to that question Lies in the make of the hard drive. So Although most external hard drives are compatible with xbox's some are not, and some do funny things like look to reformat every time they are reattached to an xbox. Sounds like your son
    has the reformty one. I'd trust your son's experience on this matter as the way you usually find out if it compatible or not is one day disconnecting it and the loosing everything. That's a sad day. there is nothing Xbox can do about these hard drives as they
    are 3rd party and they have no control over the design and programming of the devices, most work fine but some have issue's.

    Hi Giovanni. It fits all the requirements for being compatible with the xbox one, so I don't see any reason it shouldn't work if you want ahead a bought it.
