    External Hard Drive problem Xbox One


    I am getting a serious problem with my Xbox One S since the latest insiders update. As soon as i connect my external Hard Drive (Western Digital MyBook 3TB) which has always worked, and i am sure is working now too, the Xbox instantly shuts down. I have
    tried everything that goes from a factory reset to playing with the power cord. I also have tried many solutions since i have already contacted Xbox Support on Twitter, since now i only received useless solution. Don't tell me the Hard Drive is not working
    since it is, it powers on correctly and i am sure there's data on it, also, it can't broke without a reason from one day to another. So i am here waiting for a response, thank you.

    Quick Fix? - New Dashboard preview update problem

    Unplug your external hard drive and do a hard reboot. Then when your Xbox is back on the home screen, plug your external hard drive back in. I had that same problem.

    The latest update should have fixed that problem though. Go to Settings and System to see if there is an available update.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is persistent on the External Hard Drive.

    Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a PC?

    Does the PC recognize the external hard drive?

    Does the external hard drive meet the specifications for the Xbox One?

    If the problem persists, I recommend to try a different external hard drive on the Xbox if possible. One thing we want to make sure, Are the ports on the Xbox One functioning?

    There is a possibility that there is either a connection issue with your external hard drive or somehow the external drive is corrupted. One possible solution is to uninstall the game and then reinstall the game. Try installing the game on only the internal Xbox hard drive to see if that fixes the problem. Also, try launching other games on your external hard drive to see if how those games are functioning normally.
