External Hard Drive Play Issue on XBOX

I have a WD Passport 1TB. It was formatted to my macbook and worked fine on my xbox. I got a new computer because my mac died and went with PC. I formatted the drive to work with Windows and now it doesn't show up as a drive on my XBOX. Help!

    :)

  2. Xbox one External Hard drive doesnt have offline support

Xbox one External Hard drive doesnt have offline support

Xbox one doesnt support external hard drives offline, the xbox one will recognize it has a external hard drive yes ,and the xbox will format the external hard drives yes, but it will not let you install or play anything offline, only until you connect to
live is when the external hard drive works then it will let you play the games off it, this needs to be fixed microsoft, we need to play are external hard drive games offline to just like the internal hard drive where it dont matter if your online or not to
play games.im not a online gamer microsoft and alot of us dont have internet either but we still want to have a larger drive , so if we dont have internet we cant play or even use the external hard drive, thats not far microsoft, you have the best console
on the planet so please send us a update that gives us the right to play are external games offline to..

  4. External Hard Drive Play Issue on XBOX

Xbox doesn't see NTFS, the file system you've likely formatted it as for use on Windows.

It does see HFS+ though, which Mac uses.

To work on Windows and Xbox, you need to format as FAT32 but that doesn't support files larger than 4gb in size.

Thanks for the response. It's formatted to Fat32 and still doesn't work on XBOX. I also formatted the drive when it was plugged into the XBOX and same issue.

  6. Are you talking about the 360 or xbox one?

The 360 will only recognise upto 32gb, you certainly wont be able to use the whole 1tb.

Once the drive is formatted to fat32 it still needs to be configured to work on the console.

I have no idea what the xbox one does,as i don`t own one.

Are you running it off of the hard drive on the Xbox One or an external one? If you are playing off of the internal drive on the Xbox One then you may want to get an external for it because that is a known issue as far as the Xbox One hard drive and this
    game.

Having the same issues. Could be something to do with the external hard drive maybe, not had time to troubleshoot yet though.

    Some ideas to try maybe?

    1. Make the Xbox One drive the primary drive, while the external drive is still plugged in

    2. Try with the external hard drive unplugged

No idea if this will make a difference, but this issue only started for me since I got an external drive. Unless others are having the same issue with no external hard drive?

    Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear that the issue is persistent on the External Hard Drive.

Have you tried connecting the hard drive to a PC?

Does the PC recognize the external hard drive?

Does the external hard drive meet the specifications for the Xbox One?

If the problem persists, I recommend to try a different external hard drive on the Xbox if possible. One thing we want to make sure, Are the ports on the Xbox One functioning?

    Let us know.
