External Hard Drive not working after update.

I just applied the 10.0.14393.1065 (rs1_xbox_rel_1608 160927-1900) fre update. My external drive is now working.

 

Wish I could say the same, still not working here and doubt it will get fixed before New Years at this rate.

 

Since last night I am now experiencing problems with my external hard drive as well.

Literally done what looks like every tech support steps on the Xbox end of things with resets and whatever else.

I believe I've done everything on the drive's end as well by plugging it into my laptop, formatting and everything else in disk management and nothing.

Some observations I've made is it will be read if I pop in another external hard drive that I usually use for videos and such, it will make the one that's usually used for games and apps appear as a media player as well. Also noticed the usual features in
games and apps to move and copy items no longer appear while uninstall remains.

 

Mine is still not working.

 

Mine hasn't worked since July!!! Been waiting patiently for a fix as I've done every possible steps and even bought a slim to see if it fixed it bc ms told me my console was at fault! Nothing worked! My computer reads it just fine so the hdd is working completely
as intended, and ms has kept super silent about this bc their update is what caused this!

 

Same. Hasn't worked in 3 months and Microsoft won't update mine or other members posts with so much as a "we're still working it, sorry for being incompetent". Now, I can't even get a game to install to the internal hard drive. System is a joke, 360 worked
a hell of a lot better after the red light of death was addressed.

 

The problem now CelticJarhead, is that during the 360 age, they cared. Now it is all about being first and pushing out new features and not patching things when they need to be fixed. I have seen about 15 preview program patches sine this issue has started
(Summer update of hell) but only a handful of proper patched for us none-preview folks. Plus the ones we do get just say "general maintenance" in the patch notes. I don't see this issue being fixed before the end of the year.

 

At this rate, you are probably right. At the very least they could update the forums indicating the issue is still being worked. The update was a mess and Cortana is a joke. Voice commands work better with the default setup, getting Cortana to go to a game
instead of coming up with some off the wall crap to bing was like pulling teeth. As you said though, they cared for the prior generation better it seems. Some of these updates have been as annoying as what Apple does with their software.

 

Well, mine was working for about a week after applying that update. Now its no longer working.
