External Hard Drive not recognized

Discus and support External Hard Drive not recognized in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I formatted hard drive with xbox then i removed and added my video files then i put it back in my xbox and nothing, at first it recognized it but...     External Hard Drive not recognized


    I formatted hard drive with xbox then i removed and added my video files then i put it back in my xbox and nothing, at first it recognized it but nothing was in it.I tried different usb port and now it doesnt even recognize it.ita 1tb WD external hard drive.thanks

    Done it! No thanks to anyone on the forums! Extremely unhelpful!

    If anyone else is have the same problem here is a link to reformatting external hard drives. Likely your hard drive will show as unrecognized so just follow that section. Pretty simple in the end.

    Is it 256GB and over and has USB 3.0 support on the drive?

    I trtied that already its weird now i see hard drive when i am at my games and apps but when i launch media player it says connect HD

    I dumbstrucking of why it not working. You meet the requiredment. But ur XB1 not want read it. All have to say is to try it another XB1.

    Requires a hard drive.

    You have to have an external hard drive plug in. It does not have to be 360 just reformat it. External hard drives that plug in the USB are not recognized as a hard drive for the 360.

    Perhaps your child's external hard drive is not working. Is your child's external hard drive recognized by the Xbox One? Does it turn on any lights?
