External hard drive not reading right

Last night I started having issues with my two terabyte seagate hard drive. It shows memory is used up on the drive but I can't get the game data to show up. And none of my games saved to it will run. It all started when I was downloading a game and that
download didn't complete and wouldn't do anything so I had to restore my Xbox thanks for any help!

Xbox not reading External hard drive

My xbox one is not registering my USB 3.0 external hard drive. I've found a website with some tips but it still doesn't work.Is there any way I can get it to register? I can't access it or anything from the xbox settings.

I'm sorry to hear about the external hard drive issues. I recommend starting with the

external storage troubleshooting guide. If none of those steps work, the next thing you'll want to try is factory resetting your external hard drive. I realize that's not an ideal thing to do however it's a necessary step in the troubleshooting process.

Hopefully it won't come to that though. Good luck and keep us posted!

The small print at the bottom of the page that I linked for you mentions:

"USB flash drive is not a hard drive."

Xbox's connection with an external drive is read-only. You can only read files that are already on the drive after connecting. You can't save game files or anything else on the Xbox main drive onto an external hard drive.

It says right in there what happens if you back out. Buy a external hard drive for games and read the terms of the preview program.

Simple answer, your hard drive is failing. Fix? Buy a new hard drive or use an external hard drive. The Xbox 360 supports external hard drives up to 2 TB.

Hard drives die and before they do, they generally exhibit, disk read errors, corrupted files none working games. Hard disk drives are mechanical with moving parts, its it not if they fail its a matter of when.
