Discus and support external hard drive not downloading digital games when xbox is off in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; It will download when xbox is on but once i turn it off it doesnt download and i have it set to get downloads when system is off...     It will download when xbox is on but once i turn it off it doesnt download and i have it set to get downloads when system is off

    How to make external hard drive the main download drive?

    hi, I'm just up dating my post about the external hard drive., as found a new issue. It seems that when I set the Power and Startup set to "Instant On", and the setting "When Xbox is off turn off storage", is unchecked, and I'm using the external hard drive
    at the main download hard drive. When I'm downloading updates, games or DLC it seems to NOT want to work automatically in sleep mode when I shut the Xbox off. Although the power light stays on the power supply, and still connected to network, as I can see
    the light on my switcher, i notice the external hard drive power is off. and nothing is getting downloaded. updates and DLC do not get downloaded to the external hard drive in instant on mode? it seems I have to put it back into energy saving mode before
    I start downloading, and let the Xbox stay on the whole time. is there another setting that I missing to fix this?

    Xbox one memory full with 5 games

    Fir disc based games appear offline when you are downloading and they will install quicker, with the digital games you will also be downloading updates which adds to the time it takes.

    If you are mainly buying digital games your vest option is to buy an external hard drive.

    Is the console set to Instant On using your voice to turn the console on? Also, check Settings to ensure that you have auto downloads and updates turned on.

    External harddrive for media not recognised by Xbox one

    My external hard drive has been having issues since the new dashboard update. Now I have to turn on the Xbox two to three times to get it to recognize it. Also, yesterday, it wouldn't let me download a game to the external hard drive. I was able to download
    it to the internal hard drive but only when the external wasn't recognized. For some strange reason, now when the external hard drive is working, I can't reset the console, I have to turn it completely off. Pressing the reboot option causes the Xbox to sit
    with a black screen and never reboots.

    Hey there A Witty Retort!

    Are you moving the game off of your Xbox onto the external hard drive, or are you installing directly onto the hard drive? If you are moving, I would suggest Uninstalling
    and Reinstalling     the game. When downloading the game back, have it download directly to your external hard drive rather than the Xbox One.
