    External Hard Drive not being read anymore


    Plugged in and Formatted a MyBook 3TB hard drive, set it up so that games would go there automatically, and now I can't even get it to show up on the XBox One anymore. Tried all 3 USB ports, of which only the one on the side ever recognized it, unplugging
    both hard drive and xbox one, and nothing's helped so far. XBox One seems to have the most recent update.

    Hey Bad Seed 760! Are you able to test the hard drive on a computer to make sure it is still functioning? Post back and let me know!

    Hard drive not being read anymore

    I have been using a portable hard drive for all my games, it used to work and now all of a sudden the Xbox stopped reading it. Any ideas on why it stopped or how to get it to work right again?

    I have the same issue with my MyBook 4 tb. Worked fine before update. Now my xbox sees' the drive but will not install anything to it. talked to support and they had me factory reset. That did nothing and now I have to install everything again. Hopefully
    they find something out soon.

    Hey Darktonyll!

    Sorry to hear you're having storage problems. Please try powering off your console completely by holding down the power button for 10 seconds (or until the Xbox One powers off) and then unplug the HDD. Wait about 30 seconds and then power it back on and
    try re-connecting the HDD.

    Thanks for your reply! I did try that out, it does recognize other usb/external hard drives, so I'm thinking the problem is more with this particular hard drive that suddenly isn't being recognized anymore.

    If you believe this is being caused by the Xbox 360 beta dashboard update, please post in the dashboard beta forums
    here.

    If you don't have access to that section of the forums just yet and you're seeing "GROUP NOT FOUND" then please be patient as a forum support agent will need to look into your participation in the beta,
    once they have confirmed that they will add you to that section of the forums.

    Please Note: You can only gain access to the beta forums if you have the "beta" channel on your Xbox 360 Dashboard. Only the person who ran the beta registration application will have access to the forums using their gamertag. No other gamertags
    will be able to access the forums. Since beta registration is now closed, it's not possible to get another console into the beta so you'd need to wait until the beta is released to the public later this year to make any purchases, or visit anyone's
    house you know of that also has this beta update to make purchases on their console for the time being.
