    External Hard Drive no longer accessible/showing up


    My xbox no longer picks up that my external hard drive is connected. Earlier today there was problems with games taking too long to load, so I power cycled & tried to move data off of the external drive to the internal one. Unfortunately, the external
    drive is no longer accessible or is found under the storage setting. The seagate hard drive still shows up on my computer and is properly formatted, just the xbox is not picking it up in any of the 3 usb slots. I have power cycled, reset the xbox, adjusted
    auto on, etc. -> anything that the online help told me to do. So I really have no idea where to go now. Thank you in advance!

    Hey there Schweizerkreuz,

    It sounds like the hard drive might no longer be working properly. Does the external drive show up when you plug it into a PC? Are the lights on the device turning on at all?

    360 S version 4gig HD no longer showing up.

    Followed the steps. If it were just the 320 gig hard drive that wasnt showing up, believe me I would be getting a new one. but it is also the internal 4gig hard drive that is not showing up. As I stated. If you can show me how I can remove the internal
    hard drive without voiding the warranty I would love trying that. This is two issues. the first being the problem with the external hard drive, but the one that I can't seem to find an answer for is the INTERNAL hard drive that no longer appears on my system
    info.

    MY INTERNAL HARD DRIVE IS NOT SHOWING UP. That is the issue.

    Need a little more info?

    Did you have them on an external hard drive that is no longer showing up?

    Did you do a factory reset and sign into a different account then what the games where purchased on?

    Hi,

    The only sure fire way would be to buy an external hard drive, install the game to this device and only plug it in when you want to play it. You could also use the external drive to install other games you don't want the children to have access to.

    This is the only way since it's not possible to hide games. But games installed to an external hard drive won't show if said external drive is not plugged in.

    The your External Hard Drive is USB 3.0 ? Try go in Settings > System > Storage to see if your Hard Drive show up
