External Hard Drive Movies

First off I know the Xbox One does not yet support external hard drives. Now that that is out of the way...

I never owned a 360 in the ending years before the Xbox One however so I don't know if this was already implemented. Will the movies I store on my external hard drive be able to display the movie artwork as the icon or is this still completely unknown? I
would just love to have a visual movie library rather than a text library to scroll through my movies.

xbox one media player

xbox one media player plays movies perfect on usb flash drive but on external hard drive the movies skip every minute or so anyone else have this problem?

No one will really know until they release the update patching in external HD support.

I think if they put a focus on being able to play films through HDD an artwork list is highly likely. Problem is, they may not want to put too much focus on this area as it may encourage piracy and detracts from the services they already provide like the
film rentals and Netflix.

I have no doubt though that HDD support will also come with film and video support, I just don't fully expect it come with an all singing and dancing movie player.

They have said external storage can be anything the internal storage can do. Cloud storage which we can use has unlimited storage, but games will not be able to be played from the cloud, but can be downloaded if you have a digital licence. Leaving cloud
storage for gave saves, music and video.

I completely agree with you Dynamic although it is not what I want. However, the Xbox One is still very young and all I will immediately care about is the ability to watch movies from it. Hopefully with age and when the more pressing issues are addressed
they will add in the ability to add thumbnails. This is, again, all under the assumption that it won't be included initially.
