External Hard Drive Message of "Ready" constantly appears, crashes my game.

Having a recurring issue for the past month where any game I have loaded onto my external hard drive that's plugged into my Xbox One crashes while I am playing it and then within 10 seconds a message appears that my external storage device is "Ready". It
is a 7200 RPM 500GB drive. What is the fix for this? I haven't had a problem with this drive ever, now the last month it is happening constantly.

"External Storage Ready" notification repeatedly, Crashes current game

i have a toshiba 1TB portable Hard Drive connected it is USB 3.0. My xbox keeps notifying me that "External Storage ready" and also crashes my game just before that happens

External Hard Drive Strange Issue

When I connect my external hard drive to my Xbox one my Xbox recognizes that it is plugged in but it does not actually work. I know it is recognized because one of the notifications appear that let you know your device is ready to start. Much like with my
headset which a notification appears and says "Headset Assigned" the only weird thing about the notification for my external hard drive is that there is no text in the box it is just white until the text "Ready to Start" appears inside it. Note this is a
new issue I've used to external hard drive before multiple times and when it used to be recognized the notification would say "External Hard Drive Ready" but as of late my Xbox has not been doing that. Any help or advice would be great thanks

Hey there Eddie!

Have you tried a quick power cycle of your Xbox One without the external HDD plugged in? If not, give that a go by holding the power button for 8-10 seconds, then connect the HDD to a different USB port. Let us know how it goes

I installed them on my old xbox one and transferred them to the external hard drive so I know they are on the hard drive

All my installed games appear correctly as installed on my Xbox one if I connect the hard drive to it. But when I connect the hard drive to my Series S, most of the installed games appear but about 9 of them do not. The missing games appear as ready to install on my Series S

I have the exact same issue. When I load up a game it all of the sudden crashed and says that the external hard drive is ready. It's really annoying.

I have the same issue.... My external drive worked since months.... After the last update i get the message external hard drive is ready again and again......

I bought an Xbox One S a fallout four seems to crash in the Boston areas but it plays fine in the other areas that you playing until the FreezeFrame is constantly keep crashing I’ve put it down to 780p and put it on an external hard drive and still constantly crashing Microsoft can fix this soon
