    External Hard Drive lag issues


    So my external hard drive has been working fine up until recently. When a game starts a cut scene, it will lag(the scene stops and starts over and over) and when the scene ends, the game play works fine. Games like Nier Automata are affected by this. I have
    power cycled my Xbox and unplugged and plugged back in the hard drive and that hasn't worked. This is the one I have:

    Is there anything I can do, or is it time for an upgrade?

    Unplug it

    Reboot

    Keep it unplugged for about 2min+

    Should fix the problem.

    Id unplug console from wall and the hd from console wait 5 mins then replug console. Once console fully booted up then plug hd back and let load. Try games again. If its just the one game it could be an issue with it. I would try uninstalling then try
    again.

    My external drive was working, all the sudden the next time i tried to power it on it wouldnt recognize it. Tried everything and still will boot up. Is my extermal done for? Please advise. Ots a seagate 2tb. Thanks!

    Check your PC to see the partitions if they are damaged
