External Hard Drive Issues! HELP!

I recently obtained a new external hard drive because my internal is now full. I had the common format issue and plugged it into my MAC so that I could have the option on my ONE to format it to "games and apps." I get the option, but once I go through the
process of formatting it never formats it. It ALWAYS returns to the initial menu asking if I want to format and start all over.

Please help. Borderlands comes out this Tuesday and I really want to play!

Xbox unable to load games at all

If you have an external hard drive could you try deleting a game and installing it directly to the console's hard drive to rule out issues with the external drive itself?

Cannot manage external hard drive

Just an update, I believe it might be the external hard drive having issues. I emailed Seagate support for help as well.

Who is the manufacturer of the HDD? (Please include model of the HDD)

Has the drive been formatted before? (If yes what what the file system you used?)

Also is the HDD USB 3.0? (Just to double check)

Are you running a beta dashboard on the console? (Follow the steps in this link to find the version you are running)

No error message. I am using a "My Passport for Mac" model # WDBLUZ0010BSL which is 3.0. It was initially formatted but I have since then reformatted it to FAT3. According to the manufacturers website, it is a 3.0, though I bought it 2nd hand and was not
sure if the USB cable was 3.0. I have tried it with my Samsung Galaxy S5 charging cable, which IS a USB 3.0 cable. I am running

Thanks for your help guys. I plugged it into the back port of my Xbox with my 3.0 usb cable. that seemed to do the trick. It did however format once before and revert. thanks for the assistance though
