External hard drive issues after reformatting

I recently setup a 1TB hard drive on a original xbox one for someone, i dont know why but they decided to reformat it at some point, this made all games on it to be unplayable. They simply wont reload, we have tried reformatting and reinstalling the games
but this only works for a day.. has anyone else had issues with this?

2TB Seagate External Hard Drive Will Not Download Certain Games

EDIT:

- Tried reformatting drive after failed download.

- Tried changing attached external hard drive to different USB ports that can be installed on Xbox.

When moving or copying the base game to external hard drive, download usually stops around 0.7% to 0.9%

Games not loading

It might be an issue with your external drive. Try reinstalling a game on your external and see if it will load, if not then you might have to reformat or replace the drive.

Is the HDD new or is an old model?, my sugestion is if its a new HDD ask for the factory waranty, in case is an old hdd, could be a physical damage because the use, this is very common with mechanical HDD... We need more info to be able to help you

It is a new model, seagate 1tb expansion 2.5-inch external usb3.0, physical damage is possible knowing the person that used it.. we did reformat it again and it was working for 3 hours, then when started up again, the games would not load, i will be looking
for the warranty later today, thanks for the quick response

Sorry for the later reply, I did not realize that there were responses actually being posted on this thread. An update on my issue personally; I realized the Xbox One reformatted my external hard drive on it's own without any noticeable prompts. What this
did was format the drive to be compatible with games rather than movies or music. After being reformatted I could not get other devices to even recognize its existence such as my laptop or desktop computers. After doing a bit of research I was able to re-partition
and reformat the hard drive back to it's original form and reload my movies / music. This process was a lot more complicated than the usual simple reformat. After I plugged it back into the Xbox One I actually got the prompt to reformat this time around and
declined. Media player from that point on actually recognized the data on my external and everything worked properly.

Make sure Xbox One did not reformat your external to recognize games only. Note I am also using a Seagate 1TB external hard drive.

You have to have an external hard drive plug in. It does not have to be 360 just reformat it. External hard drives that plug in the USB are not recognized as a hard drive for the 360.
