    External Hard Drive Issue


    I was recently playing a game I had on my external hard drive when suddenly the game crashed and it went back to the launch screen. Now I can't get the hard drive to be detected anymore. I've tried resetting the console, unplugging and replugging it back
    it, and a different port. I'm worried that I've lost the hard drive and all the data on it. Is there anything else I can do besides get a new hard drive and if I do, is any save data for games I had on the hard drive gone for good?

    External Hard-drive Issue

    My Xbox will not detect my 120gb External Hard-drive I, have a partition of 16gb exactly that is formatted to FAT32(even when formatted to XFAT it isn't recognised either)
    however the light is on and the disc is spinning in the drive. When plugged into my computer it works fine, it shows both partitions but when I go to Xbox/System Settings/Storage it only shows my HDD and Xbox Cloud Saves. I have tried most guides however
    none seem to work. Thanks For Any Help, .

    External hard drive issue

    Hey I need help with an issue I'm having with my Seagate Expansion 3 TB HDD that I'm attempting to use for game storage. Straight out of the box it was not recognized by the Xbox One. So I took all the steps listed in the trouble shoot and after the hard
    restart still no prompt to reformat. When I went into my storage setting I see that it's already being recognized as a media storage and offers me no options to reformat. I tried reformating it on my Mac and erasing any files already existing. Unfortunately
    it still gets recognized as a media storage. Please help me figure out how to convert this hard drive for game storage as I just spent $140 on this thing and need the starve space.

    External Hard Drive Issue

    save data is backed up autiomatically to the cloud but your hard drive does sound like its corrupted you might have to plug it into a pc and reformat it.

    Having the same issues. Could be something to do with the external hard drive maybe, not had time to troubleshoot yet though.

    Some ideas to try maybe?

    1. Make the Xbox One drive the primary drive, while the external drive is still plugged in

    2. Try with the external hard drive unplugged

    No idea if this will make a difference, but this issue only started for me since I got an external drive. Unless others are having the same issue with no external hard drive?

    May I know if an external hard drive is plugged into your console? If yes, have you kept the external hard drive unplugged when performing troubleshooting steps and check if the issue persists without external hard drive?

    If you have an external hard drive could you try deleting a game and installing it directly to the console's hard drive to rule out issues with the external drive itself?
    I am not using a external drive :(
