External hard drive game installation

I bought a Seagate Expansion 2tb external hard drive and formated it after connecting to my xbox one. Started installing games but now it wont download game anymore and is stuck with 89,4% and will only download after hard reseting the xbox but that only
works for a coupe minutes.

Anyone know what should I do?

Noob question ^_^

I was wondering, would I be able to install my physical games on an external hard drive? My external is almost full, and I just want to make sure that external hard drives isn't only for digital installing, but for physical installing too.

Issues with installation

I'm gonna be more specific: the game doesn't accept installation on external storage. Whether it's flash drive or external hard drive, the game isn't meant to install on external storage connected through USB just like Need for Speed Rivals on Xbox 360.
You need to install it on an internal hard drive (media hard drive). The link I provided to you aren't external hard drives; they're internal hard drives for the Xbox 360:

Does this happens with all games or just with an specific one? Can you try with other? we need to know more about this issue to find the solution, let us know!

You may have ghost space from updates. But it's hard to tell. Try transferring games from internal to external or delete and redownload some to see if that fixes the issue.

When installing a game it happens only with one game (Watch_dogs 2) and when trying to play it happens with one game also but I tried only two games and that second one sort of froze on start up and after a while got message saying "something went wrong
try again. Start up took too long. (0x8027025a)"

No but I did format the usb hdd again and installed a couple of games and it seems to work a little better. Probably something went wrong while installing Watch_dogs 2.

If you get the error message "it took too long" that foreshadows that you don't have enough download speed for your console to load up certain things. Go to your network
settings and click detailed network statistics
, this will help distinguish what your number are when you click the link below.

Keep in mind you need 3.5mbps to your download and .5 to your upload to make sure you can operate on live. Here's a link to help you out
