    External Hard Drive Formatting Time


    So, I just want to know how long it should take to format an external hard drive for games and apps.

    I have a 2tb hard drive, it has been nearly 2 days and it has still not finished formatting. While it is formatting I am unable to do anything on my Xbox.

    External Hard Drive Formatting Time

    Formatting a hard drive for games on the Xbox One should only take a few minutes. If it has been nearly 2 days and still not formatted, then there is either something wrong with the console or the hard drive. I would suggest powering down the console,
    then try formatting the hard drive to NTFS format on your PC, then try formatting the hard drive on the console again.

    as per the other comments about the use of the external hard drive for the 360 I am in the update preview program which allows additional External hard drives to be used.I purchased the same Seagate 2tb external hard drive as per my xboxone but when I apply
    the format on the xbox360 as per the instructions it replies with unable to format. Would like to know what external hard drives are compatible? I no the hard drive works as tried it on the xboxone after it would not format for the 360

    Either format that drive or buy a external hard drive and use
