External Hard Drive for Xbox One compatible with the Xbox One X?

I have a Seagate external hard drive formatted for my XBox One. Will that same hard drive be compatible with the XBox One X so I don't lose all my games and saved data?

    :)

External Hard Drive for Xbox One compatible with the Xbox One X?

    Hi

All accessories that can be used with Xbox One including External Hard Drives can also be used on the Xbox One X and in addition to this they will also be adding the ability on the Xbox One and Xbox One S to pre download the enhanced versions of games of
games for use on the Xbox One X prior to the consoles release.

The new expansion card for Xbox Series X

    Hi,

Current external hard drives are USB 3.0 5,400 RPM mechanical hard drives. These drives are very slow compared to the Expansion card. You won't be able to run Series X/S games from current external hard drives, not even the 2.5" external SSD drives either.
But, you will be able to archive your Series X/S games to these drives to save downloading again.

The expansion card can run all compatible Xbox games. Which will be Series X/S, Xbox One and the BC Xbox 360 and original Xbox games on the BC list.

Xbox One and other Backwards compatible games will load a lot faster on either the internal storage or the expansion card than they would if you ran them off your external hard drive.

Microsoft has a video on YouTube showing 'The Outer Worlds' loading in just 11 seconds on a Series X/S SSD, compared to nearly 60 seconds on Xbox One.

    Storage Device too slow error

Xbox Series X|S games can only be installed on the console's internal storage or the external Seagate SSD card. Link here. External drives are too slow for those games. The external hard drive can only be used to install backward compatible games (Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One).

    External hard drive xbox one

    Hello there,

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. As previously mentioned by our Ambassador's in regards to your question about the External Hard Drive for your Xbox 360, you will need to get an External that is compatible with the Xbox one. The external hard drive
that you have for your 360 will not be compatible with the Xbox one. If you would like more info on
