Discus and support External Hard Drive for Movies on XBOX ONE in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I believe I read that we can now plug in an external hard drive and play videos?     External Hard Drive for Movies on XBOX ONE


    I believe I read that we can now plug in an external hard drive and play videos? I have not tried it. If this is true, can someone tell me what format it has to be in, NTFS or FAT32. Lets say NTFS is the answer. Do I need to use a fresh drive, or can I plug
    in an existing drive with data already? I just want to make sure it doesn't format and erase my existing movies.

    xbox one media player plays movies perfect on usb flash drive but on external hard drive the movies skip every minute or so anyone else have this problem?

    Please tell users of the xbox one that once they allow the xbox one to format an external hard drive they will be unable to use this hard drive with there PC. I have very little interest in downloading the games i've played onto it. I mainly wanted to
    download movies from my external hard drive to my xbox one for viewing movies. Same with songs (much like on the ps3 or even the xbox 360) I am very dissapointed with the download as it does not allow me to do this and futher more i now have a useless external
    hard drive!

    Unfortunately at the moment any external drive you connect to the xbox one will be wiped and reformatted so you would lose all of your movies. I doubt there are any plans to allow it in the future.

    The hard drive in the system is 500 gb. It can support a minimum 250 gb external hard drive. As far as I know you can store games that are compatible with Xbox One on an external hard drive but not music or movies. No one knows when the system will be
    backwards compatible or if it will be at all. You can play blu rays but not digital copies of movies unless you go through a service like Netflix, Red Box etc that Xbox One supports.

    Unfortunately at the moment any external drive you connect to the xbox one will be wiped and reformatted so you would lose all of your movies. I doubt there are any plans to allow it in the future.
