External Hard drive error, now all games and apps on it will not work.

When I turned my Xbox one on today, my external hard drive was having problems being detected. After going through all troubleshooting steps I could find for similar issues it finally started working again. Then it started to act really weird, the Xbox
one detects the external and has the correct numbers for free space and whatnot, but the games and apps that were installed on it would not show up in the my games & apps section, it only had the games and apps installed on the internal hard drive listed.
All the rest of my games and apps that were on the external were in the ready to install section. After restarting once more (not a hard reset with the green Xbox one screen) The games and apps from the external are now back in the Games and apps sections,
but all of the ones installed on the external hard drive now come up with; For some reason *game or app name* took too long to start. (0x8027025a) every time I try to open them. Now for the last 2 days or so I haven't been using my Xbox one but it was in
stand by just like it always is. This is the same external hard drive I have had since I bought my Xbox one and I have never had problems like this. Someone please help I cant play any of my games unless I reinstall them on the internal hard drive and I
don't want to lose all my saves since I don't have gold and I don't have the room on the internal drive since that's kind of the point of the external drive.

All my games are gone

After the recent update, all my games have disappeared from my external hard drive. In system setting storage, it list the external hard drive and says 242.3 GB of 2.8tb free. But under my games and apps it shows no games on the external hard drive only
the games on the internal hard drive.

Harddrive questions

You can't disable the internal hard drive. Go ahead and attach an external hard drive and move all you games/apps/saves to it and run your games from the external drive.

Now all my games both on the internal and external as well as disc based games come up with that error after trying one final hard reset.

Does the issue persist if you disconnect the external hard drive and reinstall the games to the internal drive?

I know there are a lot of posts but let me re-summarize.

Hard drive was working with everything.

Xbox updated.

External Hard Drive allows Apps to install no issue, but games will not install or be moved to the External Hard Drive.

Games that were on the external drive still work but are no longer able to update and as such error out when attempting to play.

Given hardware did not change and is still in working order as evidenced by being read and installing Apps (small sized files compared to games), the only thing that changed was software (the update).

Some users report certain external hard drive enclosures work still ($7.99 on Amazon) but previous ones stopped. This tells me there is a driver incompatibility or a soft block on certain external device enclosures.

You may have filled your internal hard drive, and now need to tell the games and apps to install to the external hard drive.
