External hard drive disconnects my wifi

So i bought a toshiba canvio 3.0 1tb hard drive because i have read it works well with xbox one, and i got it in the mail the other day and plugged it in. This is where my problems began, as soon as i formatted my im disconnected from my network. So i got
online with xbox support and the guy told me to unplug it from the xbox and unplug the xbox and press the power button for 20 seconds, then restart the xbox. That worked but now when ever i plug the hard drive in my my xbox does not recognize any networks
at all. Im not sure if this is a known issue but i know this hard drive works with xbox one. Im just not sure where to go from here trying to fix this issue so that i dont have to constantly screw with this to make it work.

Impossible to connect Wifi AND External hard drive at the same time $?!?!$

Hi,

I have buy an external hard drive and put it on my Xbox One S but when it's connect to, i can't connect my WiFi..

I have try with two different hot spots (my router and my 4g smartphone) but impossible to connect, and when i disconnect the hard drive, problem solve....

Can you help me plz??

Problema wireless

Wireless Networking: You may be unable to detect wireless networks with an external hard drive attached.

Workaround: While the console is off, disconnect the external hard drive, power on the console, connect to the wireless network, and reconnect the external hard drive.

I have heard of this happening to some other users, however, I have not been able to find a solution. Do you possibly have a friend you could test the external drive on their system to see if it causing the same problem? May be something defective in the
drive. Also make sure you are using a USB 3.0 cable and try different ports on the console.

Yeah it's a 3.0 transfer cable and I can test it on someone else's Xbox. It's weird it only only happens sometimes. Like if I put the 3.0 caplet in the Xbox while the hard drive is plugged in to the other side. If I plug the cable in first then attach it
to the hard drive it seems to not happen as often.

Do not uninstall from the external hard drive, just disconnect from your console. When finished resetting, do a fresh install right into your console's internal memory. Keep the external hard drive disconnected.

If you have an external hard drive connected via USB disconnected and it performs a power cycle, check for the same error without connecting the external hard drive
