External hard drive coming next month COMFIRMED

Great news keep the updates coming Microsoft

 

So excited for this update! Keep the updates coming MS!

 

A lot of comments and is mainly about external drive support, not even spoke about smart glass updates to TV and UI, adding names to gamer tags, useful for Skype and people who may not know tag but know your name.

 

Pretty sure you'll be able to use it for music and vids nps (in regards to comment on the last page) since i can stream all my mp3's from my phone to the windows music app and i can stream all my vids through the video app on my xb1 i am pretty sure these
2 apps will be able to play the media on the hdd respectively

 

LTA I am sure your right, I am not sure if it's in this update but if it's not it will be soon. It must be part of the format that's needed of the drive to store music or video in a certain folder for example. I guess they could do it by file extension but
the audio or video player might pick game assets of That's the case.

I'm glad they went the external HDD method instead of the PS way. The amount of data I'll be moving back and forth will be plenty and it'll just be easier to be external. Now I hope they don't start making different internal HD sizes, it is dumb for consoles
to have so many skus like the PS3 had.

Also wonder if MS will make their own externals to sell in stores.

 

You already get unlimited cloud storage for media just not games. Which is brilliant but not so good if you have no internet

would be way cooler if they would just allow it to partition off part of my NAS (Network Attached Storage) so I could access my content throughout any Xbox One in any part my home via the network.

 

Word is a max of 16TBs. Should last a generation unless you buy every game possible.

 

Just get another drive, it essentially makes it unlimited

I noticed his M has just gone to a number level. He was a great mod *he mixed in well* you get some who just say "alright." and lock or do something. I'm looking forward to external HDD support because the Xbox 1 consoles HDD is very limited cant even remove
it. I can't wait until they release USB file support like videos/pics, be able to change the Dash background, and voice messages. Surely there are lots of peps who want those things too. Those are XBOX features.
