    External Drive won't Format


    I recently got a new Xbox and bought an external 2TB 3.0 USB hard drive for it. It's fresh out the box so it is completely blank.

    When I plug it into the XBOX One it is detected and gives the option to format it.

    But when I select yes it does not show up.

    I've seen it should only take a few minutes at most but it has been 2 hours and the drive is still not showing up in storage.

    I have retried this a few times and even hard rebooted the xbox but nothing seems to help.

    Am i missing something here?

    Doesnt matter if you formatted in the PC, when you connect the first time in the console, and you choose as storage for games and apps it will always format the drive.
